Role Overview: High School English Teacher
The High School English Teacher will deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in literature, writing, and language studies. You will foster critical thinking, strong communication skills, and a lifelong appreciation for reading and writing. The role involves developing a challenging and supportive classroom environment that encourages student voice, creativity, and academic inquiry.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English Language Arts to high school students using standards-based curriculum
- Plan and implement lessons that integrate literature, composition, and grammar
- Assess and track student progress to inform instruction and support growth
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design and school initiatives
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Participate in school-wide events and extracurricular programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of teaching experience at the high school level
- Knowledge of international education standards and best practices
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Strong proficiency in written and spoken English
