Role Overview: High School English Teacher
As a High School English Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging English language and literature instruction to students in Grades 9–12. Your role will focus on developing students’ critical thinking, analytical writing, reading comprehension, and communication skills in preparation for higher education and global careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English literature and language courses aligned with international and IB standards
- Develop and deliver student-centered, inquiry-driven lesson plans
- Foster a supportive classroom culture that encourages independent thought and collaboration
- Evaluate student progress using diverse assessment methods
- Work closely with colleagues on curriculum planning and cross-disciplinary initiatives
- Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and professional development
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student growth
- Integrate technology to enhance learning and engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of high school teaching experience, preferably in an international or IB setting
- In-depth understanding of English literature, writing instruction, and global curricula
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Ability to collaborate with a diverse team of educators
- Commitment to professional growth and innovative teaching practices
