Role Overview

The High School Math Teacher will deliver engaging and challenging mathematics lessons that build strong conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. The teacher will support students in mastering core mathematical principles while encouraging critical thinking, collaboration, and resilience. Beyond the classroom, the role includes guiding students through academic challenges, preparing them for university entrance, and contributing to extracurricular school activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach mathematics across high school grade levels within the BC curriculum
• Create lesson plans that foster analytical thinking and real-world application of math
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback
• Prepare students for both BC and Japanese examinations
• Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and initiatives
• Support extracurricular activities, including math clubs and competitions
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, ideally in an international school setting
• Strong knowledge of secondary mathematics pedagogy and assessment practices
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and innovative teaching strategies
• Enthusiasm for teaching in a multicultural and bilingual environment
