Role Overview: High School Music Teacher
The High School Music Teacher will deliver engaging music instruction aligned with the British curriculum, including IGCSE and A-Level courses. You will nurture students’ musical talents through performance, theory, composition, and ensemble work. The ideal candidate fosters a creative, inclusive classroom where students build confidence, discipline, and appreciation for the performing arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IGCSE and A-Level Music with clear learning objectives
- Inspire students through instrumental and vocal ensemble leadership
- Prepare students for performances, recitals, and school events
- Organize concerts, music festivals, and inter-house competitions
- Support individual student growth through personalized feedback
- Collaborate with the Performing Arts department on cross-disciplinary projects
- Engage in professional development and contribute to school life
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music or a related field
- Valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of high school music teaching experience
- Familiarity with IGCSE and A-Level Music preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Passion for music education and international learning environments
- Ability to integrate technology into music instruction
