Role Overview
As a High School Music Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping students’ musical abilities and appreciation for the arts. You will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum, focusing on both theory and practice. Your teaching will cover vocal and instrumental training, music composition, and performance. You will also lead students in concerts, school events, and competitions, promoting confidence and artistic expression.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach music theory, history, and performance to high school students
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons that foster creativity and skill development
- Prepare students for Cambridge examinations in music
- Direct school choirs, bands, or ensembles and organize performances
- Integrate technology into the music classroom for composition and practice
- Encourage student participation in local and international competitions
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen the arts and music program
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education, Music, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting
- Strong knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum and music pedagogy
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in both vocal and instrumental instruction is an advantage
- Commitment to professional growth and innovative teaching methods
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English
- Enthusiasm for inspiring students in a multicultural environment
