Role Overview: High School PE Teacher
The High School PE Teacher plays a key role in developing students’ physical literacy, promoting healthy lifestyles, and encouraging lifelong engagement in fitness and sports. The ideal candidate combines subject expertise with the ability to connect with and motivate students.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons aligned with IB and/or national standards
- Organize fitness assessments, sports activities, and inter-school competitions
- Foster positive student attitudes toward teamwork, discipline, and healthy living
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education across school-wide programs
- Maintain safety standards and ensure inclusive participation in all activities
- Track student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Contribute to school-wide wellness initiatives and co-curricular offerings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a PE teaching role at the high school level
- Strong knowledge of international curricula, including IB or similar programs
- Excellent communication, leadership, and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Self-driven and proactive in enhancing curriculum and promoting a fitness culture
- Enthusiastic about working in a multicultural, collaborative teaching environment
