Role Overview: High School Psychology Teacher

The High School Psychology Teacher will guide students in exploring human behavior, mental processes, and the scientific methods behind psychological inquiry. The ideal candidate will be deeply knowledgeable in the field, responsive to student needs, and committed to helping students make meaningful connections between psychological theory and real-life experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging psychology lessons aligned with IB or international curriculum standards
• Encourage inquiry-based learning and facilitate classroom discussions on psychological concepts
• Assess student understanding and provide timely, constructive feedback
• Integrate real-world case studies and research to deepen student comprehension
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and interdisciplinary learning projects
• Support students in internal assessments and exam preparation for the IB Diploma Programme
• Participate in school-wide events, clubs, and pastoral care programs
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology or a closely related field
• Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or international equivalent)
• At least 2 years of experience teaching psychology at the high school level
• Familiarity with international curricula, particularly the IB Diploma Programme
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Passionate about developing students’ analytical thinking and well-being
• Eager to contribute to a global learning environment and professional learning community
