Role Overview: IGCSE History Teacher

The IGCSE History Teacher will be responsible for teaching History at the secondary level, following the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus. The successful candidate will engage students in exploring global historical events, foster critical thinking, and encourage informed discussions.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in accordance with the Cambridge IGCSE History curriculum
• Create engaging learning experiences that connect historical content with modern relevance
• Foster a classroom environment that encourages analysis, debate, and independent thought
• Differentiate instruction to meet a range of learning styles and abilities
• Monitor and evaluate student progress using both formative and summative assessments
• Collaborate with other educators to ensure curriculum continuity and enrichment
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student achievement and well-being
• Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and ongoing professional development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Education, or a related field
• Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• At least 2 years of teaching experience at the secondary level, preferably in an international or IGCSE setting
• Familiarity with the Cambridge International curriculum
