This school is based in Amman, Jordan and is looking for a History of Arab Teacher.

Overview:

Al Ra’ed Al Arabi School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable History of Arab Teacher to join our team. The History of Arab Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in the history of the Arab world to secondary school students, fostering their understanding of Arab culture, heritage, and contributions to civilization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage students in exploring the rich tapestry of Arab history and its impact on the world.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum in the history of the Arab world, covering key periods, events, figures, and cultural developments.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, resources, and technology tools to create dynamic and interactive lessons that cater to students’ diverse learning styles and interests.
  • Foster critical thinking, historical inquiry skills, and cultural awareness through discussions, research projects, and primary source analysis related to Arab history.
  • Integrate interdisciplinary connections between Arab history, literature, art, music, and geography to provide students with a holistic understanding of Arab civilization.
  • Incorporate real-life examples, case studies, and multimedia resources to make Arab history relevant and engaging for students.
  • Encourage students to explore the complexities of Arab identity, diversity, and unity, while promoting respect for different perspectives and viewpoints.
  • Assess student learning and progress using a variety of formative and summative assessment methods, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore Arab history, ask questions, and share their insights and experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum goals, share resources, and participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in History, Arab Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Teaching certification or qualification in Social Studies Education or History.
  • Previous experience teaching Arab history or Middle Eastern studies courses at the secondary school level.
  • Strong knowledge of Arab history, culture, and civilization, with the ability to communicate complex historical concepts effectively to students.
  • Enthusiasm for teaching and inspiring students to explore the richness and diversity of Arab history and its global significance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
