Main Responsibilities:

• Classroom Instruction: Deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in history and geography to secondary school students, following the French national curriculum.
• Student Assessment: Design and administer assessments to evaluate student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
• Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of the history-geography curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching methods and materials.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for history and geography.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in history and geography instruction.
• Parental Communication: Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and any concerns, fostering a collaborative and supportive educational environment.
• Extracurricular Activities: Support and participate in school events and extracurricular activities related to history and geography.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues and school leadership to support the overall mission and values of Lycée Français Alioune Blondin Beye.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Geography, Education, or a related field.
• Certification: Teaching certification recognized by French educational standards.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching history and geography at the secondary school level.
• Language Skills: Native or near-native proficiency in French; knowledge of Portuguese is an advantage.
• Skills: Strong classroom management, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in using educational technology.
