This school is based in Kampala, Uganda and is looking for a History Teacher
Responsible for:
To develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with the appropriate curriculum guidelines and objectives (IMYC, IGCSE, A-level).
To facilitate learning by establishing a positive and supportive relationship with pupils and by their organisation of learning resources and the classroom learning environment.
To develop and foster the appropriate skills and social abilities to enable the optimum development of children, according to age, ability and aptitude.
To assess and record progress.
To link pupils’ knowledge to earlier learning and develop ways to encourage it further.
To fulfil all obligations with regard to duties and expectations outside of the classroom in line with the Staff Handbook.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor Degree in relevant subject from a recognized institution.
Recognised teaching qualification (preferably degree or postgraduate qualification).
Preferably two or more years teaching experienceat an appropriate level.
Experience in an international school with the IBDP, IGCSE and/or A-level programmes will be an added advantage.
Evidence of previous successful teaching experience
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of child development, curriculum development, effective instructional strategies, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing, and demonstrate active listening skills.
Demonstrate the ability to use technology for word processing, data management and communications.
