This school is based in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia, Antigua and is looking for Secondary School Humanities Teachers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Secondary Humanities Teacher:

  • Plans and delivers engaging classes across the humanities department, which may include English literature, language arts, writing, history, and social sciences.
  • Implements a wide variety of teaching strategies that meet individual student needs and abilities, as well as the particular needs of English Language Learners.
  • Creates a safe learning environment that is conducive AIS’ mission and vision.
  • Utilizes a range of assessments to evaluate student learning and provides consistent, timely feedback on student progress.
  • Competently uses media and technology as a teaching tool and incorporates Service Learning in instructional units.
  • Establishes professional goals, seeks out and participates in professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to connect learning across subjects and contributes to drafting, revising, and implementing the relevant grade curriculum.
  • Actively participates in the after-school program, advisory, and supervision duties as needed.
  • Assumes responsibility willingly and is self-motivated, modeling professional behavior at all times.
