Role Overview: IB DP Biology Teacher
The IB DP Biology Teacher will design and deliver engaging biology instruction that builds scientific thinking, research skills, and conceptual understanding. This role requires expertise in the IB curriculum and a strong commitment to student achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IB DP Biology in alignment with the IB standards and assessment criteria
- Guide students through scientific investigations, lab work, and internal assessments
- Design differentiated lesson plans that support a range of learning needs
- Use data-driven strategies to monitor student progress and improve outcomes
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and curriculum development
- Communicate regularly with parents and students to support academic growth
- Participate in school activities, team meetings, and professional development sessions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or Education
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least two years of experience teaching biology, preferably in the IB DP or similar international program
- Strong classroom management skills and a student-centered teaching approach
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Familiarity with international education standards and multicultural school settings
