Role Overview
The IB DP Biology Teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons that encourage inquiry, experimentation, and analytical thinking. You will prepare students for IB DP assessments while helping them develop a lifelong passion for science and research.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Biology at the IB Diploma Programme level
- Develop lesson plans that encourage inquiry-based learning
- Prepare students for both internal and external IB assessments
- Incorporate laboratory work, research, and hands-on activities into teaching
- Use technology and innovative methods to support learning outcomes
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and cross-disciplinary projects
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and academic support to students
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues to support student success
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of three years’ teaching experience, preferably with IB DP or international curricula
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Biology
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- High proficiency in written and spoken English
- Commitment to continuous professional development and innovation in teaching
