Role Overview
The IB DP Biology Teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons that foster a deep understanding of biology while encouraging students to develop scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and research skills. The teacher will work closely with colleagues to enrich the science curriculum and create meaningful learning experiences that connect biology to real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Biology lessons aligned with the IB Diploma Programme framework
- Foster inquiry-based learning, problem-solving, and independent research
- Prepare students for internal and external assessments in the IB DP
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles
- Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning outcomes
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support interdisciplinary learning
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and the school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of three years’ teaching experience, preferably in an international or IB school
- Strong knowledge of biology and the IB DP curriculum
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for teaching in a multicultural, diverse environment
- Commitment to professional growth and innovation in science education
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
