Role Overview: IB DP Chemistry Teacher
The IB DP Chemistry Teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. You will empower students to think critically, perform laboratory investigations, and connect chemistry concepts to real-world issues.
Responsibilities
- Teach DP Chemistry in accordance with IB curriculum requirements
- Guide students through Internal Assessments (IAs) and exam preparation
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Integrate technology and practical experiments to enhance engagement
- Track student progress using formative and summative assessments
- Participate in curriculum development and interdisciplinary projects
- Collaborate with science department colleagues and school leaders
- Maintain clear communication with students and parents
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related science field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, state license)
- Minimum two years of teaching experience, ideally in IB or international schools
- Deep understanding of the IB DP Chemistry curriculum
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
- Proficiency in English with strong communication abilities
