Role Overview
The IB DP English Teacher will deliver engaging and rigorous lessons that develop students’ analytical, writing, and critical thinking skills. The teacher will guide learners through a wide range of literary texts, helping them connect literature to cultural and global contexts. This role requires a strong commitment to inquiry-based learning, collaboration, and student-centered teaching.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IB DP English Language and Literature to high school students
- Design and implement lessons that encourage critical analysis, interpretation, and effective communication
- Prepare students for IB assessments, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards
- Provide constructive feedback to support student growth and achievement
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support cross-curricular initiatives
- Engage with parents and the school community to support student success
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably in IB DP or international schools
- Strong knowledge of IB English curriculum and assessment requirements
- Effective classroom management and strong communication skills
- Commitment to professional development and innovative teaching practices
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
