Role Overview: IB DP History Teacher
The successful candidate will teach History within the IB Diploma Programme, supporting students in developing historical understanding, research skills, and global awareness. The position requires deep familiarity with the IB curriculum, a strong foundation in historical analysis, and the ability to inspire independent thought.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging IB DP History lessons aligned with program standards
- Foster critical thinking, historical inquiry, and academic writing skills
- Guide students in the completion of their Internal Assessments and Extended Essays
- Develop formative and summative assessments that accurately reflect student progress
- Integrate primary and secondary source analysis into instruction
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, parents, and school staff
- Contribute to school events, curriculum development, and professional learning initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB or international school context
- Deep understanding of the IB DP History curriculum and assessment practices
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and global education
