Role Overview
The IB DP Music Teacher will design and deliver high-quality music instruction within the IB Diploma framework. The role involves nurturing creativity, musical expression, and technical mastery while helping students connect music to culture, history, and contemporary contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IB DP Music classes and support students preparing for assessments and performances
- Develop engaging lesson plans that balance theory, performance, and music technology
- Encourage students to explore diverse musical traditions and styles
- Organize concerts, recitals, and extracurricular music activities
- Provide individualized support to develop student musicianship
- Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary projects
- Contribute to wider school initiatives and community events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, ideally in international or IB schools
- Strong knowledge of the IB DP Music curriculum
- Excellent performance, composition, and classroom management skills
- Enthusiasm for working in a diverse, bilingual school community
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Ability to integrate music technology into teaching
