Role Overview: IB MYP Arts & Design Teacher
As an IB MYP Arts & Design Teacher, you will create engaging learning experiences that foster artistic expression, critical thinking, and technological fluency. You will empower students to explore visual communication, design principles, and innovation through various media and collaborative projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach arts and design lessons aligned with the IB MYP framework
- Guide students through the design cycle and project-based learning
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress
- Encourage creative risk-taking, visual literacy, and reflection
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for thematic units and exhibitions
- Integrate digital tools and technologies to enhance instruction
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues
- Contribute to the broader school community through clubs, events, or exhibitions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art, Design, or a related discipline
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of experience teaching arts or design, preferably in an IB or international school
- Strong understanding of the IB MYP framework and inquiry-based learning
- Proficiency in classroom management and project facilitation
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
