Position Overview: IB MYP Arts Teacher
As an IB MYP Arts Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging lessons across the visual or performing arts disciplines. Your role involves guiding students through the creative process, fostering critical thinking, and encouraging personal expression. This position requires a strong understanding of the IB MYP framework and a deep commitment to arts education in a multicultural context.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach creative and inquiry-based arts lessons in accordance with the IB MYP curriculum
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse international student population
- Create a supportive and stimulating classroom environment that encourages artistic exploration
- Assess student progress using a variety of formative and summative tools
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support interdisciplinary learning
- Promote student exhibitions and performances to showcase their creative work
- Integrate digital tools to enhance learning and artistic expression
- Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues about student development
- Participate in school events, committees, and professional development activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Arts Education, Fine Arts, Performing Arts, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum two years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an IB or international school setting
- Strong knowledge of the MYP arts framework and assessment strategies
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to inspire creativity and confidence in students
- Fluent in English with strong written and verbal skills
- A proactive, independent approach to curriculum enrichment and school involvement
- Proficiency with technology tools relevant to arts instruction and online learning
