Role Overview: IB MYP Biology Teacher
As the IB MYP Biology Teacher, you will develop and deliver an engaging science curriculum based on the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). You will encourage inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and practical laboratory skills among middle school students.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IB MYP Biology to students in grades 6–10
- Design and implement inquiry-based lesson plans aligned with the IB framework
- Facilitate lab experiments, science projects, and real-world applications
- Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units
- Support school events, clubs, and science-related extracurriculars
- Engage with parents and the wider school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Science Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least two years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or IB setting
- Deep understanding of the IB MYP science curriculum
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching
- Enthusiasm for working in a multicultural school community
