Role Overview: IB MYP Chemistry Teacher
The IB MYP Chemistry Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and inquiry-based science lessons to middle and high school students. The role focuses on encouraging critical thinking, scientific exploration, and practical laboratory skills within the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP).
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Chemistry in accordance with the IB MYP framework
- Create lesson plans that promote inquiry, collaboration, and conceptual understanding
- Supervise lab activities and ensure student safety during experiments
- Develop assessments that support diverse learning needs
- Participate in interdisciplinary curriculum planning
- Engage with parents and provide regular student progress updates
- Contribute to extracurricular science initiatives and school-wide events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience in Chemistry or a related discipline
- Familiarity with IB MYP or other international science curricula
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- A proactive, collaborative approach to teaching and school development
