Role Overview: IB MYP Design Technology Teacher
As an MYP Design Technology Teacher, you will engage students in exploring the design cycle, digital tools, and practical applications of technology. You will help learners build essential skills in innovation, critical thinking, collaboration, and digital literacy through inquiry-based projects and design challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging MYP Design Technology lessons aligned with IB principles
- Guide students through the design thinking process, from inquiry to final product
- Incorporate a range of tools and materials, including digital design and fabrication technologies
- Assess student learning through formative and summative evaluations
- Collaborate with faculty to create interdisciplinary learning experiences
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress
- Participate in school events, professional development, and curriculum planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design Technology, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB or international school setting
- Strong understanding of MYP Design and project-based learning
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in digital tools and educational technology
- Passion for design, innovation, and student-centered learning
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Proactive, reflective, and committed to professional growth
