Role Overview
The IB MYP/DP Music Teacher will deliver engaging instruction in both the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). This position involves guiding students in developing their musical skills, appreciation of music across cultures, and creative expression. The teacher will design lessons that encourage inquiry, collaboration, and performance while supporting students’ growth through concerts, ensembles, and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Music courses within the IB MYP and IB DP frameworks
- Plan lessons that inspire creativity, performance, and appreciation of diverse music traditions
- Provide constructive feedback and assessments that align with IB standards
- Collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary learning projects
- Direct school concerts, performances, and music-related extracurricular activities
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience, ideally in an IB or international school setting
- Strong knowledge of the IB MYP/DP Music curriculum and assessment practices
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Commitment to professional growth and innovative teaching methods
