Role Overview: IB MYP English Teacher

As an IB MYP English Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging lessons in literature, writing, and communication, aligned with the MYP language and literature objectives. Your instruction will promote analytical thinking, cross-cultural awareness, and a lifelong love of reading and writing.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver creative and rigorous English language instruction aligned with IB MYP standards
• Plan differentiated lessons that meet diverse student learning needs
• Guide students through literary analysis, structured writing, and oral communication
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor and support progress
• Collaborate with the English and interdisciplinary teams on curriculum planning
• Support students in developing ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills and learner profiles
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student development
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives and extracurricular programs

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum two years of experience teaching English at the secondary or middle school level
• Prior experience with IB MYP curriculum preferred
• Strong classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Passion for student-centered learning and international education
• Proficiency with educational technology tools for blended learning
