Role Overview: IB MYP English Teacher

As the IB MYP English Teacher, you will teach students in Grades 6–10 using the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework. Your responsibilities include designing and delivering language and literature lessons that develop critical thinking, reading comprehension, and effective communication. You will collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary units and assess student progress based on IB assessment criteria.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons aligned with the IB MYP
• Use inquiry-based approaches to encourage critical analysis and interpretation
• Differentiate instruction to meet varied student learning needs
• Provide timely and constructive feedback through formative and summative assessments
• Collaborate with the MYP team on unit planning and interdisciplinary learning
• Use digital tools to enhance teaching and support student learning
• Maintain regular communication with parents and participate in school events
• Uphold classroom expectations and contribute to a positive learning environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum two years of teaching experience in a similar role
• Strong understanding of the IB MYP curriculum and international education systems
• Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to ongoing professional development
• Proficient in using educational technology for instruction and assessment
