Role Overview
The IB MYP Humanities Teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons that promote inquiry, cultural awareness, and analytical skills. The role includes teaching within the IB MYP framework, encouraging students to explore perspectives on history and society, and preparing them for future success in the IB Diploma Programme. Teachers at TCIS actively collaborate with colleagues, integrate technology into instruction, and contribute to extracurricular initiatives that strengthen the school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Humanities instruction aligned with the IB MYP curriculum
- Develop engaging units that foster inquiry, critical thinking, and global awareness
- Assess and monitor student learning, providing constructive feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities
- Incorporate digital tools to enhance classroom experiences
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Participate in extracurricular activities and wider school initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Humanities, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least three years of teaching experience, ideally in an IB or international school setting
- Strong knowledge of the IB MYP Humanities curriculum and inquiry-based pedagogy
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and innovation in teaching
- Fluency in spoken and written English
