Role Overview: IB MYP Mathematics Teacher
As an IB MYP Mathematics Teacher, you will lead engaging, concept-based lessons aligned with the MYP curriculum. You will help students develop strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of mathematical principles. Your lessons will connect mathematics to real-world applications while promoting the IB learner profile.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver mathematics instruction in accordance with IB MYP standards
- Create a student-centered classroom environment that fosters inquiry and collaboration
- Use assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Integrate technology to enhance mathematical understanding and engagement
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support interdisciplinary learning
- Engage with parents through regular communication about student progress
- Participate in school events, professional development, and community initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least two years of experience teaching mathematics at the secondary or middle school level
- Experience with IB MYP preferred, but not required
- Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuous learning and innovation in education
- Fluent in spoken and written English
