Role Overview: IB MYP Music Teacher
As an IB MYP Music Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging music lessons that encourage creative expression, performance skills, and global musical appreciation. You will support student development across vocal, instrumental, and digital music platforms while aligning with the MYP framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver music instruction aligned with the IB MYP curriculum
- Develop students’ technical skills in voice, instruments, and music composition
- Organize performances, showcases, and collaborative music projects
- Use a variety of assessment tools to track student growth and progress
- Integrate music technology to enhance learning experiences
- Collaborate with other teachers on interdisciplinary learning units
- Maintain open communication with students, families, and school staff
- Create an inclusive, encouraging, and safe classroom environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music or Music Education
- Valid teaching license or equivalent certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in music, preferably within an IB or international school context
- Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and digital tools
- Experience with the IB MYP framework is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- A collaborative and growth-oriented approach to teaching
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
