Role Overview

The IB MYP Music Teacher will lead engaging and innovative music classes for students in the Middle Years Programme (MYP). The teacher will inspire students to develop musical skills, cultural awareness, and confidence in creative expression while supporting the overall mission of OYIS.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver dynamic lessons aligned with the IB MYP Music curriculum
• Encourage creativity, collaboration, and performance skills in students
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school-wide initiatives
• Support student performances, concerts, and cultural events
• Integrate technology to enhance music learning and student engagement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in the IB MYP framework
• Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and international curricula
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Enthusiasm for working in a multicultural and diverse school environment
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth
