Located on the island of Sumbawa, Indonesia, Amman Academy began operations in 2008 under the name Sekolah Buin Batu. The school was established to provide a high-quality international education for the children of employees and contractors of PT Amman Mineral Nusa Tenggara, which operates the Batu Hijau copper and gold mine.
Amman Academy operates as a Partnership School (Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama/SPK) and delivers the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and the Diploma Programme (IB DP). The school focuses on academic excellence, student-centered learning, and fostering global citizenship among its students.
Role Overview
As the IB MYP Science & DP Chemistry Teacher, you will deliver the IB curriculum with creativity and rigor. You will support students in exploring scientific concepts and developing their analytical and critical thinking skills. This role demands a strong understanding of IB frameworks and a commitment to student engagement and holistic education.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Science, or Education
- Recognized teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in science and/or chemistry
- In-depth knowledge of the IB MYP and DP science and chemistry curricula
- Ability to design and implement interactive and inquiry-based lessons
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to professional growth
- Competence with educational technology and digital learning tools
