Role Overview

The IB MYP Social Studies Teacher will teach engaging lessons that help students develop historical awareness, geographical knowledge, and cultural understanding. This role requires an educator who values inquiry-based learning, integrates real-world issues into the classroom, and empowers students to think critically about society and the world around them.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach MYP Social Studies courses aligned with IB standards
• Design inquiry-driven units that foster critical analysis and global perspectives
• Use varied teaching methods and technology to engage students
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the IB MYP curriculum
• Promote intercultural understanding and respect in the classroom
• Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, History, Geography, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• At least three years of teaching experience, preferably in international or IB schools
• Strong knowledge of IB MYP Social Studies curriculum and pedagogy
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and innovation in teaching
• Proficiency in English, both spoken and written
