Role Overview: IB PYP English Teacher
The IB PYP English Teacher will design and implement engaging, inquiry-based English language and literacy lessons that align with the IB PYP framework. The teacher will cultivate a learning environment that supports language acquisition, critical thinking, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver differentiated English instruction to support diverse learning needs
- Plan units that align with the IB PYP curriculum framework and learning objectives
- Encourage reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through creative strategies
- Foster a classroom culture of collaboration, inquiry, and respect
- Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction
- Communicate regularly with parents to support student progress
- Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area teams
- Integrate technology to enhance student learning and engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, IB Certification)
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB PYP school
- Strong knowledge of early literacy instruction and inquiry-based learning
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken
- Passion for teaching in a multicultural, international school setting
- Willingness to grow professionally and contribute to school initiatives
