Role Overview: IB PYP English Teacher
As an IB PYP English Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-driven lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework. You will play a key role in developing students’ literacy skills, encouraging a love of reading and writing, and fostering critical thinking from an early age.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement lesson plans that meet IB PYP standards
- Promote inquiry-based learning and integrate cross-curricular connections
- Assess student progress through diverse evaluation methods
- Maintain an inclusive, safe, and positive classroom culture
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and families to support student growth
- Integrate technology to enrich instruction and enhance engagement
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and professional learning opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB or international school
- Strong understanding of the IB PYP philosophy and literacy instruction
- Excellent communication, planning, and classroom management skills
- Native or near-native proficiency in English
- Proactive, team-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
