Role Overview: IB PYP Mathematics Teacher
The IB PYP Mathematics Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, concept-driven math lessons aligned with the IB PYP framework. The teacher will help students develop mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills, and confidence in using math in real-world contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inquiry-based math units aligned with IB PYP standards
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Use assessment data to drive instructional decisions and monitor student progress
- Promote mathematical thinking and a growth mindset in the classroom
- Integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support transdisciplinary learning
- Maintain open communication with parents and the school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field
- Valid teaching credential or certification (QTS, PGCE, IB certification, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years teaching experience, preferably in an IB PYP setting
- Deep understanding of inquiry-based and concept-driven math instruction
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- High level of proficiency in spoken and written English
- Passion for international education and multicultural teaching environments
- Initiative to lead or contribute to wider school projects and innovation
