Role Overview: IB PYP Science Teacher
The IB PYP Science Teacher will guide students in exploring scientific concepts through hands-on inquiry, experimentation, and problem-solving. You will help learners make real-world connections while building foundational knowledge in physical, life, and earth sciences. Collaboration, differentiation, and innovation are key components of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging science lessons aligned with IB PYP principles
- Facilitate inquiry-based learning experiences that promote curiosity and critical thinking
- Integrate scientific vocabulary, lab skills, and STEM applications
- Assess student learning through formative and summative methods
- Collaborate with grade-level and specialist teachers on interdisciplinary units
- Support students’ social and emotional development within a classroom community
- Maintain open communication with parents and colleagues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of experience teaching science at the primary or elementary level
- Familiarity with IB PYP curriculum and international school settings preferred
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and classroom management skills
- High level of English proficiency (spoken and written)
- Commitment to student-centered learning and continuous professional development
