Role Overview: IB PYP Science Teacher
The IB PYP Science Teacher will deliver engaging, hands-on science instruction that encourages exploration, problem-solving, and critical thinking. You will play a key role in helping students make meaningful connections between scientific concepts and real-world contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver inquiry-based science lessons aligned with the IB PYP curriculum
- Encourage scientific thinking and experimentation through transdisciplinary units
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and needs
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor and guide student learning
- Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance science education
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan cross-curricular learning experiences
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and school staff
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science Education or a related field
- Valid teaching license or equivalent certification (QTS, PGCE, etc.)
- Minimum two years of experience teaching science at the primary or elementary level
- Familiarity with the IB PYP framework and international curricula
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Fluency in English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous professional development
- Passion for working with young learners in an international school environment
