Role Overview
As an IBDP/Cambridge Visual Arts Teacher, you will create an engaging classroom experience where students explore various art forms, techniques, and concepts. You will guide them in developing individual artistic voices and portfolios that reflect both skill and creativity. This position also involves mentoring students for exhibitions, assessments, and university-level art programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging Visual Arts lessons aligned with IBDP and Cambridge frameworks
- Foster critical and creative thinking through studio practice and art history integration
- Mentor students in creating artworks for exhibitions, internal assessments, and portfolios
- Encourage independent exploration and conceptual development in artistic projects
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to integrate art into cross-curricular projects
- Use modern technologies and digital tools to enhance the teaching and learning process
- Organize student art exhibitions and promote artistic appreciation across the school community
- Provide constructive feedback to support each student’s creative growth and confidence
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar teaching role
- Strong knowledge of IBDP and Cambridge Visual Arts curricula
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for mentoring students and fostering creativity
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and innovation in art education
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Ability to use digital tools to enrich teaching and enhance visual learning experiences
