Role Overview: IBDP Chemistry Teacher
As an IBDP Chemistry Teacher, you will teach engaging and concept-driven lessons based on the IB Diploma Programme framework. Your instruction will promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and practical laboratory skills that prepare students for success in higher education and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver IB Chemistry lessons that align with IBDP standards
- Develop lab-based and inquiry-focused activities to deepen student understanding
- Evaluate student progress through varied assessments
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to interdisciplinary learning
- Participate in school-wide events, clubs, and academic enrichment programs
- Stay up to date with IB curriculum developments and best teaching practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject
- Valid teaching license or equivalent certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE)
- At least 2 years of experience teaching chemistry, preferably within the IB Diploma Programme
- Strong understanding of IBDP assessment criteria and curriculum structure
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Proficient in English (spoken and written)
- Passion for science education and student-centered learning
- Ability to use educational technology to support instruction
