Role Overview: IBDP Visual Art Teacher
As an IBDP Visual Art Teacher, you will lead the IB Diploma Programme Visual Arts course, encouraging students to develop technical skills, conceptual depth, and personal artistic expression. You will also play an active role in organizing exhibitions and promoting a culture of creativity throughout the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the IBDP Visual Arts curriculum
- Mentor students in independent projects and portfolio development
- Guide learners through art analysis, critique, and exhibition preparation
- Provide regular assessments and feedback based on IB rubrics
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives
- Organize student art exhibitions and contribute to school-wide events
- Integrate digital tools and platforms to enhance artistic learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Visual Arts or a related field
- Valid teaching credential (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of experience teaching visual arts, preferably in an IB context
- Strong knowledge of art theory, techniques, and contemporary practices
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Commitment to inclusive and student-centered teaching
- Passion for fostering creativity and global artistic awareness
