Role Overview: IBMYP Science Teacher
The IBMYP Science Teacher will design and implement engaging science lessons that align with IB Middle Years Programme standards. You will help students build strong conceptual understanding across life, physical, and earth sciences. By fostering inquiry, experimentation, and reflection, you will support students in developing both scientific literacy and global awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach MYP science to middle years students using inquiry-based methodology
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with IB MYP objectives
- Create assessments that evaluate scientific knowledge and thinking processes
- Promote lab safety and hands-on experimentation
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary units and school projects
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers
- Participate in faculty development and community events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience
- Experience with IB MYP science curriculum strongly preferred
- Skilled in classroom management and student engagement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Proficient in using educational technology
