Role Overview: IBPYP English Teacher
As an IBPYP English Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the IB framework. You will focus on language development, reading comprehension, and writing proficiency while promoting inquiry and student agency. You’ll collaborate closely with bilingual co-teachers to support language integration and holistic student development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement English language lessons aligned with IBPYP standards
- Foster a love for reading, writing, and effective communication
- Support students’ growth across all four language domains: listening, speaking, reading, and writing
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular units and assessments
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress
- Contribute to school events, professional learning, and community initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, English, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an IBPYP school
- Strong knowledge of English language instruction and inquiry-based learning
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Technologically proficient and comfortable integrating digital tools into instruction
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and enthusiastic about global education
