This school is based in Geneva, Switzerland and is looking for a ICT Teacher – Primary (Maternity Cover).

Main Purpose of the Role: As an ICT Teacher in the Primary section, you will design and deliver computer science-based ICT lessons. You will develop project-based units leading to the creation of projects and games while teaching students crucial IT skills and internet safety. This role requires high organization and the ability to quickly develop positive student-teacher relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Connect our computer science-based ICT curriculum to the Nord Anglia STEAM initiative.
  • Develop the computer lab to make it an innovative space for learning.
  • Identify clear teaching objectives and specify their teaching and evaluation methods.
  • Define tasks that center on content creation to stimulate students and ensure a high level of interest.
  • Set appropriate and demanding expectations.
  • Provide structured lessons by maintaining a stable pace, motivation, and stimulation.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with school procedures and encourage good practices in terms of punctuality, behavior, working standards, and duties.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development by evaluating your teaching to improve effectiveness.
  • Stay up to date on the latest technology skills, online safety information, and computer science content for primary-aged students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver coherent units of work.
  • Communicate and consult with parents as appropriate.

 

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong ICT skills with Apple products.
  • Knowledge of computer science.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Team spirit and involvement, flexibility.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good organization.
  • Open-mindedness, autonomy, and enthusiasm.
  • Languages required: English or French. Both will be an advantage.
