This school is based in Amman, Jordan and is looking for an MYP ICT Teacher.

Job Purpose: The MYP ICT Teacher is responsible for implementing and teaching the International Baccalaureate curriculum. As a learner, motivator, and communicator, the teacher provides professional expertise and high-quality teaching and learning experiences. The teacher will lead and facilitate diverse and effective learning experiences using a range of methods in a supportive and positive climate across the school. The goal is to deliver a coherent, balanced, integrated, and inquiry-based program, preparing students for international programs in a stimulating, challenging, and well-organized learning environment. The teacher will collaborate with other educators to contribute to students’ success.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Teaching & Curriculum Development:
  • Be a subject expert in ICT.
  • Plan and deliver authentic units that allow students to actively apply their knowledge and skills to solve local and global issues.
  • Enable students to exercise choice, develop goals, plan their approach, and work independently.
  • Design, prepare, and deliver a high-quality curriculum within the IB framework to suit the individual needs of all students.
  • Develop a holistic overview to ensure students build on their prior learning experiences.
  • Create course materials such as booklets, handouts, and homework assignments.


Student Engagement & Assessment:
  • Create challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all students.
  • Motivate students to perform at their best through differentiated instruction and varied teaching styles.
  • Monitor student performance to enhance understanding and mastery of skills.
  • Assign and evaluate coursework, submit grades, and maintain contact with parents regarding student performance.
  • Take part in the standardization of all types of assessments within the subject group.


Collaboration & Communication:
  • Communicate regularly and constructively with students.
  • Use engaging teaching methods that stimulate intellectual curiosity, including effective questioning, presentation, and resources.
  • Set high expectations for student behavior and maintain good behavior management through focused teaching and positive relationships.
  • Work as a team member, positively contributing to effective working relations within the school.
  • Share best practices and gained knowledge with team members.


Additional Responsibilities:
  • Attend school events, regular department meetings, workshops, and conferences.
  • Attend IB authorized training and stay current with relevant changes to the IB guide.
  • Implement school policies, mission, and vision.
  • Properly use school platforms and perform morning duties and breaks.
  • Replace absent teachers when needed and carry out any other duties or responsibilities requested by the principal.
  • Take on responsibilities of the students’ affairs personnel and communicate with parents and external bodies as necessary.


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant subject.
  • Proficiency in computer skills to creatively use technology in the classroom.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, confidence in public speaking.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, commitment, integrity, strength of character, and perseverance.
  • Commitment to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Ability to prepare reports, worksheets, and deliver oral presentations.
  • Excellent planning, coordinating, organizing, and analyzing abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development.
  • Good team spirit, patience, ability to work under pressure, and resilience.
