Role Overview
The IGCSE English Teacher will play a central role in guiding students through the study of English language and literature. The position requires delivering engaging lessons, preparing students for IGCSE examinations, and fostering strong communication and analytical skills. The teacher will create a stimulating classroom environment where learners feel challenged, supported, and inspired to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English language and literature in line with the Cambridge IGCSE framework
- Develop innovative and engaging lesson plans that meet diverse learning needs
- Guide students in exam preparation and academic writing skills
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and independent learning
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and extracurricular programs
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and the wider school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience, ideally with IGCSE or international curricula
- Strong knowledge of English language and literature instruction
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- High proficiency in written and spoken English
