Role Overview: IGCSE/IBDP/ESL English Teacher
In this role, you will teach English Language and Literature at the IGCSE and IBDP levels while also supporting English as a Second Language (ESL) learners. You will design differentiated instruction to meet the diverse language needs of students, encourage analytical thinking, and promote fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and differentiated English instruction across IGCSE, IBDP, and ESL streams
- Design curriculum-based lesson plans that align with international standards
- Foster critical reading, writing, and communication skills
- Support ESL learners in integrating into the academic environment
- Monitor student progress using assessments and provide actionable feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary teaching
- Participate in professional development, school events, and parent meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Recognized teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, etc.)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching IGCSE/IBDP English or ESL
- In-depth knowledge of Cambridge and IB curricula
- Expertise in language acquisition and literacy development
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Passion for multicultural education and inclusive teaching
