Role Overview: KS3 Design & Technology Teacher
As the KS3 Design & Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging, practical, and thought-provoking lessons that promote innovation and problem-solving. You will guide students through hands-on projects, encouraging them to apply design principles and technological knowledge in creative ways. Your work will also support their progression to IGCSE-level Design & Technology studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Design & Technology to students in Key Stage 3, following the British curriculum
- Plan and deliver lessons that focus on creativity, design thinking, and technical skills
- Use modern tools and software to enhance the teaching of CAD, product design, and materials
- Track student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Contribute to the development of the Design & Technology curriculum and resources
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives and whole-school projects
- Support extracurricular programmes and student-led innovation clubs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, or a related subject
- Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years’ teaching experience in a similar role
- Familiarity with the British curriculum or international equivalents
- Strong practical teaching skills and knowledge of contemporary design and fabrication tools
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and technology integration skills
- Fluent English speaker with a commitment to ongoing professional development
