This school is based in Tokyo, Japan and is looking for a Learning Support Assistant.

Position Summary
ASIJ is seeking an exceptional educator with a desire to learn and grow. They will have an open, positive view toward learning and life, while possessing a powerful desire to collaborate with and contribute to one of our grade level teams. The successful candidate will be excited by the opportunity to work alongside a classroom teacher and Learning and Behavior specialist to create learning experiences for ASIJ’s youngest learners that enable them to construct learning and build competencies and skills that comprise our N-12 Portrait of a Learner. The ideal candidate will have or be ready to learn a varied repertoire of pedagogical practices that empower learners in a way that leverages their strengths and addresses their needs. They will have collaboration skills and be open to constructive feedback. The ideal candidate will excel in nurturing each child’s unique skills and have a determination to build their students’ social-emotional competencies. They will be inspired by ASIJ’s Commitment to Know, Value, and Care and eager to join a faculty that embraces this promise. Finally, our new teammate will embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion, honoring students’ identities and readily supporting all learners in the classroom.

Qualifications & Experience

  1. University degree (required)
  2. Teaching experience (preferred)
  3. Experience working with children in some capacity
  4. Experience working with children who are neuro diverse or linguistically diverse (preferred)
