Learning Support Assistant- Senior School, St Christopher’s School, Bahrain

St Christopher's School

This school is based in Isa, Bahrain and is looking for a Learning Support Assistant- Senior School.

To provide dedicated support and guidance to senior school students, including EAL students, in all areas of learning support. The role requires working closely with students aged 11-18 years, ensuring they receive the assistance needed to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
Student Support:
  • Provide individualized support to students, including those with additional learning needs and EAL students.
  • Assist in the implementation of personalized learning plans.
  • Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

 

Classroom Assistance:
  • Support teachers in preparing and organizing teaching materials.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive and conducive classroom environment.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and implement behavior strategies as directed by the teacher.
  • Provide additional support during classroom activities, ensuring all students are engaged.

 

One-on-One and Small Group Support:
  • Conduct targeted support sessions for students in one-on-one or small group settings.
  • Facilitate interventions and remedial sessions as required.
  • Encourage and motivate students to engage fully in their learning.

 

Collaboration:
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, and other support assistants.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and plan interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on student development and support strategies.

 

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous experience working with students aged 11-18 years is highly desirable.
  • An excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong multi-tasking and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively in a team.
  • Applicants must already be resident in Bahrain at the time of appointment.
  • Non-Bahraini nationals must have a dependent visa through their partner’s employer and their partner must be registered with the LMRA.
  • A copy of educational certificates is required (minimum of School Leavers Certificate).
